Our Services
ABN Tax is a fully staffed accounting and taxation firm, backed by a team of highly qualified accountants and tax agents with vast industry experience. We place a high emphasis on knowledge and training and remain at the cutting edge of all things accounting and tax. As such, ABN Tax has the technical capability to act for clients of any size and complexity.
Please view our Menu of Services (PDF; 200KB) for a detailed listing of the services we provide as well as an indication of how we price each of these services. The version of this document which ABN Tax Client Managers have contains our actual prices and hourly rates.
Having perused our Menu of Services, please read the information contained on this page to better understand how we charge for our services and our invoicing practices.
Broadly, there are three styles of service that we provide which may be classified as follows:
| 1. | Compliance Services. |
| 2. | Corporate Secretarial Services. |
| 3. | Special Services. |
We will now examine each in turn.
Compliance Services
This refers to the preparation of income tax returns and financial statements. Our invoicing process works as follows:
| 1. | The ABN Tax Client Manager supplies us with a copy of your accounting software file and other information of relevance. This enables us to get a sense for what is involved. |
| 2. | We email a Quote to the ABN Tax Client Manager who then forwards it to the client for approval. |
| 3. | If approved, the Quote becomes a Tax Invoice and we direct debit the client's nominated bank account or credit card for 50% of the amount. |
| 4. | When the work is finalised, we provide it in electronic form to the ABN Tax Client Manager who then distributes it to the client. |
| 5. | 14 days later, we direct debit the client's nominated bank account or credit card for the remaining amount owing. |
If there are any factors that could give rise to a variation to our quote, we will list these in our quote as "Contingencies". Importantly, we will advise you at the outset of the cost of these if they were to apply.
Corporate Secretarial Services
If there is a company as part of a trading structure, ABN Tax will act as registered office and take care of any attendances with the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC). All of our Corporate Secretarial services are performed at fixed fees which are listed in our Menu of Services. Broadly speaking, there are two types of corporate secretarial attendances that are possible.
Firstly, there is the role we play in acting as a company's registered office and attending to the annual review which is required by the ASIC. Each year, as this task falls due, we will attend to it automatically. We will then email a Tax Invoice to the ABN Tax Client Manager and will direct debit the client's nominated bank account or credit card 14 days later.
Secondly, there are miscellaneous tasks that could arise from time to time, such as notifying the ASIC of changes in addresses, directorships or shareholdings. We will perform these tasks upon receiving instructions or a Corporate Secretarial Request Form from either the ABN Tax Client Manager or the client. We will then email a Tax Invoice to the ABN Tax Client Manager and will direct debit the client's nominated bank account or credit card 14 days later.
Special Services
Many of the other services that we provide are at fixed prices which are listed in our Menu of Services.
If the service requested is listed at a fixed price, we will email a Quote to the ABN Tax Client Manager who will then forward it to the client for approval. If approved, the Quote becomes a Tax Invoice and we direct debit the client's nominated bank account or credit card for the full amount.
If the service requested is not listed at a fixed price, then we will adopt the following approach:
| 1. | If the task is small, which we consider to be something that will cost $330 or less, we will automatically attend to the task at our hourly rates (which are also detailed in our Menu of Services). At a future point in time, we will email a Tax Invoice to the ABN Tax Client Manager and will direct debit the client's nominated bank account or credit card 14 days later. Examples of these types of task include providing information to a bank to support a finance application, or the answering of various tax questions which you have emailed us. |
| 2. | If the task is large, but we can reliably estimate the time involved, we will email a Quote to the ABN Tax Client Manager who then forwards it to the client for approval. If approved, the Quote becomes a Tax Invoice and we direct debit the client's nominated bank account or credit card for the full amount. An example of such a task is a business valuation. |
| 3. | If the task is large, and we cannot reliably estimate the time involved, our hourly rates would apply to the task if we were to proceed. We would contact the ABN Tax Client Manager to discuss an approach that would be appropriate to the circumstances. An example of such a task is assistance in a matrimonial settlement likely to span many months. |
